Bible Verse 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
If you are with others, discuss these things or if you are alone, bring to mind some of the things that you are thankful for in your life. It may be family and friends. It could be the fact you have made time to think about Lent and that you are here right now. It could be anything, a favourite pet or animal, a book or item of clothing.
Now think about people who may not be so fortunate as you are. People who live in fear and poverty not only in other countries but here in our own.
Over the next few weeks perhaps you could ask others what makes them thankful. What are they thankful for?
Is there anything you could do to show you are thankful and how could you help others?
Praying is a good way to share your thoughts with God and don’t forget to thank him for all he does for you.
